Employment
Equal opportunities
It is this Company's policy to treat job applicants and employees in the same
way, regardless of their sex, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, disability,
marital status, religion, belief, age or sexual orientation. The Company is committed
to this Equal Opportunities Policy and all employees are required to co-operate
with its efforts to ensure that the Policy is implemented in full.
Recruitment & selection
In principle the Company seeks wherever possible to grow its own talent from
entry level through internal development. Where we are unable to recruit suitable
candidates internally, the Company seeks to recruit quality individuals from the
external labour market that will bring valuable experience and knowledge to the
Company.
The Company uses a variety of selection tools depending on the roles being recruited
for, including competency based interviewing, assessment centres and psychometric
profiling to maximise the possibility of ensuring a right fit for both the Company
and the candidate.
Training and development
The Company is committed to ensuring that individuals have the appropriate skills
and knowledge to carry out their role. Through carrying out a full year performance
review and a mid year review, employees are encouraged to discuss their training
needs with their manager to identify key development areas and methods to address
those needs.
Drugs and alcohol
The Company has a duty under the Health & Safety at Work Act to ensure, so
far as reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all employees.
The Company will take appropriate action wherever and whenever substance abuse
may, in the Company’s view, be a threat to the performance of this duty.
No employee will be permitted to work in a state of intoxication or under the
influence of drugs, or other substances, not only in their own interests but in
the interest of their working colleagues. Non compliance will lead to disciplinary
action which can include dismissal.
In order to enforce this policy, the Company carries out random alcohol and drugs
testing using an independent organisation.
Data protection
The Company is committed to ensuring that the personal information of its employees
is kept securely with appropriate access given to individuals according to their
job function. Employees processing personal data should endeavour to achieve the
highest level of accuracy in the receipt, use, storage and destruction of personal
data and to ensure that’s such personal data is current, up to date and security
